Just a Nice, Easy Ride: What You Need to Know Before You Start Cycling

This board comes in 2 versions - a camber and a rocker version (like most Arbor boards). The camber version is a little more aggressive. But the rocker version is just right for that high-end beginner to low intermediate rider looking to progress.


A great option for those who want just a bit more stiffness compared to most on this list. Still a mid-flex, but just a touch stiffer than most here. If you're quite an athletic rider, you might like that extra rigidity.




Just a Nice, Easy Ride…



So, if you think you want to step it up just a touch more with the flex, but still want something that's easy enough to turn and is otherwise a really high performance board, this could be a good option for you. It's one that is a a great all-mountain board in it's own right, not taking into account being good for an intermediate rider.


This all-mountain-freestyle deck is super fun and easy to turn with and is great for any aspiring freestyle to all-mountain freestyle riders out there. It's on the looser, more playful side, so if you like the sound of that, this board could work well for you.

There is another side to the fun of skydiving. The side where it gets dangerous on the ride to altitude or on jump-run. The ride to altitude seems like just an easy way up, but our behavior on board has a major impact on the flight characteristics of the aircraft. And far too few people know about it.

Not only is Tahoe home to the world famous Flume Trail, there are dozens of places for mountain biking on nice, easy rides around the lake basin. If you don't have your own bike bring your own bike there are several bike rental companies around the lake.


If your goal is to get ready for a great performance at a goal event or in pursuit of a personal goal, only do as much work as you need to do. Extra work at ineffective intensities just add fatigue, which you have to recover from before you can train effectively again. It has been proven time and again that improved power at aerobic, lactate threshold, and VO2 max intensities can be accomplished with relatively short rides that include intervals to accumulate time-at-intensity.


A 3 hour ride IS a long ride. This is not where you can develop speed and power. 90-110 minutes is a ride on which you focus on speed and power. I think CTS is imagining we are all elite riders getting ready to ride for Quickstep at Paris Roubaix tomorrow, just like Chris C used to be. Sorry Chris I never made it beyond Cat 3 amateur.


Riding an e scooter is an efficient and enjoyable way to get around town. They're super fun to ride and can be used on the road and in some cases on trails. They're easy to learn how to operate, and are easy on your wallet compared to the costs that come with cars and public transport.


That's all there is to it. Electric scooters are really easy to ride and once you get used to the basics, you'll no doubt quickly start to enjoy riding, and then there'll be stopping you from becoming a pro at it!


There are some fairly easy things you can do to make sure you ride safely. First of all get familiar with the components of the scooter, such as the scooter's deck and whether the braking is done with the rear wheel or on the handlebars. Get used to your protective gear and the braking power too, and when you're ready to get on two wheels, here are some tips:


However, if you're just starting to learn how to ride an electric scooter, it can be helpful to start with a smaller model until your skills improve enough that you feel comfortable trying something more challenging.


Electric scooters are definitely easy to ride and are an affordable way to get around town, commute to work, or just for recreational trips. Make sure you read the manufacturer's instructions and get hold of all the proper documentation and safety gear before starting out.


It's just as easy and nearly as eco-friendly as riding a manual bike, but with much less effort. Remember that scooters come in a variety of shapes and sizes depending on your needs, but all are simple enough for you to learn how to operate them within minutes.


With scenic views of forests, farmland, and waterways, the 10.5-mile David S. Ammerman Trail offers several opportunities to stop and enjoy the scenic beauty of the area. Built on an abandoned rail corridor and part of the Great Shamokin Path used by the Lenape and Mohican tribes, the crushed stone trail provides a smooth and easy ride, complete with picnic tables at around 2.5 miles, 4 miles and 6.7 miles outside of Grampian.


The 38-mile D&H Rail Trail offers some wonderful scenic views of the Lackawanna River and several small lakes. The trail provides some challenging sections with steep inclines, including a few where you just may have to walk your bike. With a trail bed comprised of cinder, original ballast, and hard-packed dirt, a hybrid or mountain bike is recommended to ride this intermittently rugged trail, where once lumber and anthracite coal were transported to the coast and to Canada.


The delightfully named Hoodlebug Trail pays tribute to the self-propelled passenger coach that ran here until 1940. A federally designated Natural Recreation Trail, the 11.3-mile Hoodlebug Trail runs from Blacklick to the county seat of Indiana with plenty of beautiful scenery along the way. Following or passing over Stony Run, Two Lick Creek, Yellow Creek, and Black Lick Creek, the trail largely is comprised of a tar and chip surface made from recycled asphalt millings with just a slight grade making for an easy, pleasurable ride.


The 13.86-mile Path of the Flood Trail follows the fateful path of the devastating Great Johnstown Flood of 1889. The trail extends from just below the site of the breached South Fork Dam to the Johnstown Flood Museum. Historical interpretive signs along the trail relate the story of the rushing waters and the terrible aftermath that led to the loss of 2,200 lives. The trail features beautiful scenery, steep inclines, a variety of surfaces including crushed stone and asphalt, and a fun ride through the Staple Bend Tunnel that at one time carried barge traffic over the mountains via rail.

Time to choose your own adventure: just pick up the Second Ring Road wherever it's closest to you, and ride until you get back to your starting point! (Or whenever you've had enough). The Second Ring Road basically follows the perimeter city walls and moats of the Inner City, and therefore takes you past numerous historic buildings and monuments, like the Temple of Heaven, Yondingmen, Houhai Lake, Lama Temple, and... the Beijing Museum of Tap Water. The entire Second Ring Road is about 34km long, but you can do a shorter section by lopping off the newer "extension" in the south, and hewing closer to the original city perimeter.


Finally, if you're the kind of person who thinks all good bike rides include food and libations, then a DIY progressive lunch is just for you. Pick a handful of your favorite haunts (or new ones you've been meaning to try), drop them in a map, and spend a few very pleasant hours riding between them, ordering a signature dish or drink at each one.
